Lead AI / ML Engineer
Contract · 6–8 months Remote · Global Senior · 5+ years

About the Role

The most critical engineering hire on the team. You will lead the design and production deployment of BIH's core AI engines — including credit risk modelling, behavioural pattern recognition, financial document intelligence, and automated decisioning logic. You will work directly under BIH's Principal AI & Data Engineer and own the ML architecture end-to-end across the full deployment lifecycle.

Core Requirements
→5+ years production ML engineering in enterprise environments
→Supervised learning for credit risk classification and regression
→Python: PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy
→LLM and NLP — financial document extraction and structured data output
→MLOps: MLflow, model versioning, production monitoring and retraining
→API deployment: FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes
Preferred
+Fintech, banking, or credit assessment system experience
+AWS SageMaker or GCP Vertex AI
+Exposure to Caribbean or emerging market financial data

Data Engineer

About the Role

You will design and build the data pipelines, warehouse architecture, and integration layers that feed BIH's AI engines and executive dashboards. Must be comfortable building production infrastructure in data-limited environments and integrating with the core banking and financial institution systems common across the Caribbean region.

Core Requirements
→4+ years enterprise data engineering — financial services preferred
→Cloud data warehouse: Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery
→ETL/ELT pipelines: Apache Airflow, dbt, or equivalent
→Strong SQL and data modelling — data vault or dimensional modelling
→Streaming: Kafka or Spark for real-time data ingestion
Preferred
+Core banking or credit union system integration experience
+AWS Certified Data Analytics or equivalent certification

DevOps / Cloud Engineer

About the Role

You will own BIH's infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and cloud architecture. Responsible for building and maintaining a secure, multi-tenant cloud environment that meets the security and compliance requirements of Caribbean financial institutions — including data sovereignty, encryption at rest and in transit, and role-based access control.

Core Requirements
→5+ years cloud infrastructure — AWS or Azure mandatory
→Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or Pulumi
→Container orchestration: Kubernetes (CKA preferred), Docker
→CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
→Security: IAM, network security groups, encryption at rest and in transit
Preferred
+AWS Solutions Architect or Azure DevOps Engineer certification
+Financial services compliance and data sovereignty experience

Full Stack Developer
Contract · 6–8 months Remote · Global Mid · 4+ years

About the Role

You will build the institution-facing web applications through which Caribbean financial institution staff interact with BIH's AI platforms — the portals used by loan officers, risk managers, and executives. Must deliver enterprise-grade, secure, responsive UI that financial institution staff can adopt immediately without training.

Core Requirements
→4+ years full stack development — React and Node.js mandatory
→TypeScript proficiency across frontend and backend
→REST API design and integration
→PostgreSQL or Supabase backend experience
→Authentication and role-based access control (RBAC)
→Strong UI/UX sensibility — enterprise dashboard experience preferred
